Tyrell scored his third goal in five games on Saturday as the Yellows overcame a stubborn Holbrook St Michaels side, adding to Jordan Phillips’ opener in a 2-0 win.

Bermudian international Tyrell, at Town on a dual registration from Mickleover Sports, and Coalville Town loanee Reittie, who has four in 12, have impressed Graves.

The Yellows boss said: “Tevahn’s probably not as fit as he’d like to be and he’d probably admit that. He’s definitely talented though, that’s clear to see.

“He probably wants to do a little bit too much at times, sometimes it might be better releasing the ball quicker, but that will come.

“The more games he plays the better he’ll become. He’s certainly got talent and we’ll use him for as long as we can.

“It’s the same with Devante Reittie, while we’ve got them we’ll use them, and it’s a good education for the players.

“They’re playing games with us and getting an education in a tough league against some very good teams.

“I’ve seen a lot of Evo-Stik games and they’re not as tough as our games. There are some better players in Central Midlands.”

Tyrell’s goal, 20 minutes into the second half, came at a good time for Hucknall after Phillips’ 12th-minute opener, admitted Graves.

“He scored his goal in the box,” he said. “We keep telling him to get in there because that’s where he’s going to get his goals.

“It was another header, a brave header at that, and we needed it. It was still 1-0 at the time and we’d missed a few chances.

“We were a bit sloppy in our finishing before that but the second goal made it comfortable for us for the rest of the game.”

And added: “They made life hard for us which we expected. They were getting players behind the ball and they were looking to hit us on the break.

“I think Mike (Randall, goalkeeper) had one shot to save in the whole 90 minutes and that was straight at him. Defensively we did well and also collected a clean sheet again.”

The win keeps Hucknall three points behind Central Midlands Football League South Division leaders Sherwood Colliery.

Sherwood travel to Matlock Town Reserves, who have won their last nine games in all competitions and not lost in the league since September, on Saturday.

“It’ll be interesting to see if Matlock can continue their run of form. I don’t think they’ve lost a game for a good while.

“Sherwood are a strong side. They’ve changed their shape to accommodate Shaun (Smith) leaving us.

“I think they play with the three strikers now which might leave them vulnerable in midfield because Matlock have got pace,” said Graves, whose side travel to Blidworth.

“We’ve got to win our game at Blidworth which is not an easy place to go. They’ve got one or two of our ex players as well.

“We’re three points behind. Eastwood and ourselves have cancelled each other out. It’s what you do against the mid-table and below teams.”

Meanwhile the league have set a new date for Hucknall’s postponed clash with South Normanton. The game will take place on 31st January.
