Two second half goals see Town lose on the road

"A game of two halfs", a saying often said in football was the case here. Town in the first half played with the strong coastal winds behind them enjoyed most of the play and chances, however before Town opened the scoring the best chance fell to Redcar's N° 10 who somehow put it wide from 6 yards with only the keeper to beat. Mateusz Stankiewicz opened his account for the club right on the stroke of half time. The Polish trialist who looked lively down the left hit the ball home on the 2nd attempt after picking up the cross from Cayne Maxwell.

The second half was more of an even affair, but town struggled with the wind against them. Redcar equalised straight from Hucknall's kick-off. Banister received the ball from Randall's pass and looked to be pushed over by the Redcar player, everyone stopped think the referee would blow for a foul but he didn't, the Redcar player picked up the loose ball who then played a through ball to the striker who then put it away.

Redcar then took the lead just before the hour mark, a mix up in the defence left the right winger to pick up the ball up and managed to to pick out the top left hand corner from a tight angle. Both teams had chances but neither team really tested the keeper again.

Another good workout, in hot and windy conditions.

We would like to thank Redcar Town and Roy Hunter for their warm welcome and hospitality and wish them them well in the season.
