Reserves beat the weather and Bingham Town in one of only a few matches to go ahead over the weekend.

After a week of rain Hucknall Town Reserves made the trip to Butt Lane to take on Bingham in one of only a handful of games to go ahead. The pitch was in great shape all things considered, unfortunately the road down to the pitch was dreadful and in desperate need of some love and attention.
When the two teams met earlier in the season the game had finished in a draw when Hucknall missed a last-minute penalty.

Hucknall welcomed new signing Will Bouwen to the squad where he slotted into midfield alongside Mitch Jackson.
As per recent times Hucknall started well but found themselves a goal behind when young keeper Alfie Clayton was barged into after catching the ball on his goal line forcing the ball out of his hands and the Bingham forward slotted home. The Referee waved away all appeals for a foul and the goal stood.
If anything, the decision galvanised Hucknall and between then and half time they played some of their best football.
Yellows equaliser came from an unlikely source. Centre back Ally Staley picked up the ball in his own half and drove forward. He found Kai Byron on the right wing and continue his run forward to receive the ball back and then lofted it up and over the keeper with the outside of his boot for an early contender for Goal of the Season. 10 mins later the Orange brothers of Kieran and Callum combined nicely on the left side and Callum slotted home to the bottom corner to give Hucknall the lead. Shortly before half time a breakaway move saw Olly Peate's shot saved by the keeper, but as Mitch Jackson was about to smash the rebound into the net he was fouled, and Callum Orange dispatched the resultant penalty kick home to take Yellows into the break leading 3-1.
Half time: Bingham Town FC 1-3 Hucknall Town Reserves

Bingham grabbed an early goal in the second half to setup a tense final 30mins of the game. But Hucknall kept their shape and composure nicely. Kieran Orange hit the post with a long range free kick and the follow up was cleared off the line. In the final 10 mins Josh Pearson looked to be through on goal only for the referee to bring things back for an earlier foul and awarded a Yellow card to Bingham. In the last seconds of the match Joe Heverin was given a straight Red card for a dangerous tackle on the halfway line. From the resultant punt into the box Yellows keeper Alfie Clayton made a smart save to secure the points for Hucknall.
