Reserves lost out to Grace

Reserves entertained Grace Dieu on Tuesday night at the RM looking to continue their good run of form. However, the opposition were able to bolster their squad with two England international players returning.
A strong wind blew from the top end down towards Doff and in the first half Hucknall took advantage of conditions to pin Grace in their own half.
Great play on the right-hand side from Staley, Peate and Stokes carved an opening for Matty Gains and the prolific striker made no mistake to score an absolute screamer into the top right corner. Five minutes later Peate picked out Gains once more, but his bullet header was well saved.

The opposition now head the wind at their backs for the second half and they laid siege to the Hucknall goal. The breakthrough came from a speculative long ball that skidded off of Ben Jones directly to their forward who made no mistake.
A ball in from the left found their striker unmarked and he directed a great header up and over the helpless McGrory in the Yellows net to take the lead.
Hucknall looked set to equalise when a free kick found Collingwood at the far post, but his header just missed the target. Yellows went to a three at the back as they searched for an equaliser, but Grace closed the game out with a really well taken goal low to the bottom right corner.

Tough game in very testing conditions. Hucknall will rue their missed chances in the first half and this young side will know this felt like an opportunity missed.
