Matty Gains second hat trick in 2 matches seals victory for Yellows.

Reserves travelled to Gresham Sports Complex for this weekend’s NSL1 game versus PMG Excel after the fixture was moved from Carlton Town's ground due to an unplayable pitch.
Yellows were forced into changes once more and with no fit goalkeeper Josh Pearson picked up the gloves. This move in position would see Pearson complete the quadruple having already played as Striker, Midfield and Central Defender. Ben Jones was drafted in to take Pearson’s place in defence with Marshall Collingwood serving the last of his 2 game bans.

Strong sideways wind made things difficult, but credit to both teams for playing some really nice football. PMG had the first opportunity to score, but Pearson did great in a one-on-one and kept his goal intact. Blaise Duruaku and Trev Lindo both had very good shouts for penalties, but each were turned down by the official. Yellows took the lead when a ball into Matty Gains spun high into the air and bounced up and over the PMG keeper. The opposition equalised after pouncing onto a loose ball in the penalty area and again the official ignored all claims for offside from Yellows defenders. Hucknall were glad to get to half time with the scores level as the PMG goal gave the home side an injection of confidence and they started to look a real threat.
Half time: PMG Excel1-1 Hucknall Town Reserves

Yellows changed things around in the second half and took control of the game by packing out the midfield. Duruaku combined with Gains for Hucknall’s second and the prolific striker took his tally to 10 goals in 7 game with a well taken third. This knocked the stuffing out of PMG and they had the woodwork to thank for Gains not getting a fourth.
After a poor February, that's a couple of good back-to-back wins for the Yellows and they remain fifth in the table with 3 games to go.
We'll give it our all to finish as high as possible.
