Hucknall Town Reserves had to switch their home game with Sandiacre Town Reserves to Greenwich Avenue due to a waterlogged pitch. Yellows squad was disrupted once more. The impressive Danny Stokes was out with a dislocated shoulder and replaced by Will Bailey. Last week’s stand in keeper Josh Pearson moved up front with Matt Gains, and Blaine McGrory returned to the goalkeeping role.
Hucknall started well and scored four unanswered goals in the first half to put the game out of reach of Sandiacre. Gains continued his impressive goal scoring form by notching his third hat trick in 3 games to move his goal tally to 13 in 8 games. Trev Lindo grabbed a goal for himself after good work from Pearson saw him smash home from close range. Yellows were unlucky not to score more with Pearson, Peate and Byron all going close.
Half time: Hucknall Town Reserves 4-0 Sandiacre Town Reserves
The second half was very scrappy as the game lurched to the full-time whistle. Sandiacre had a man sent off for a second yellow card and were fortunate not to receive a second red for another players very high two-footed challenge on Olly Peate. They grabbed a consolation goal from a corner whilst at the other end Yellows were extremely wasteful in front of goal.
That's 3 wins on the trot and moves Hucknall up to Fourth in the table with only two games to go.
