Ground move completion expected September 2022

After more than 15 years in the making the move to a new ground for Hucknall Town Football Club is now going ahead. Watnall Road has been home to Hucknall Town FC since 1943 hosting several highlights including The FA Vase runs during the 1970's and 80's, FA Cup runs in the 2000's and The FA Trophy run, where the highest attendance of 1,871 against Bishops Stortford was recorded.

The new ground, already under construction, just across the road on Aerial Way is expected to be completed in September of this year and it is hoped that the majority of the 2022/23 season will be played there.

Bob Scotney Town's Chairman said " this is a very exciting time for both the club and the Town. Football is at the heart of the community and after a very long protracted period we are finally on the move to a brand new facility. This facility will vastly improve the experience for both our loyal and new supporters as well as others who use the clubhouse for various functions."

Consisting of two floodlit pitches and a clubhouse the facility will also be home to the Yellows youth set up Hucknall Warriors who run youth teams for the local community ranging from 6 - 17 year olds.

"After years of hard work put in by a very dedicated Management Committee at Hucknall Town, it's great to see that pay off with a brand new facility which everyone in the town can be proud of. This is something that will benefit the whole community, from people just getting their children into youth football, to those who have been following Hucknall Town FC for many years" stated Committee member Paul Burley who runs the youth set up at Hucknall Town FC.

Andy Graves, first team Manager was also enthusiastic about what's ahead, "we have had some memorable moments at Watnall Road and it will be remembered with fondness I am sure, by all current and ex players as well as supporters. We have a fantastic support base and this is exactly what they deserve, a new facility which they can enjoy for years to come".

Watnall Road has hosted many teams including Nottingham Forest, Notts County, Mansfield Town and Manchester United.

The club will be keeping supporters abreast of developments over the coming months on its official website and social media feeds, along with updates on the completion date.
