Yellows fell short as they lost out to Barrow Town by a single goal in their last match before the play offs.
In a match with few chances it was the hosts who had the early chance on 19 minutes but Kinnerley denied a header that was goal bound. A couple of other chances were denied by the home keeper, firstly Towle on 23 and Knight on 28 minutes. It was Knight and Towle who had the better chances in the second half, either side of the hosts conversion on 60 minutes.
Yellows could not force an equaliser and our unbeaten run came to an end as the match ended 1-0.
Manager Andy Ingle had mixed emotions after the game. "Not the finish to the league programme we wanted. It certainly looked like we were just going through the motions and one chance was all the opposition needed, we just didn't deal very well with what was needed to be done in front of us and we paid the price for it."
Ingle, who set his sights on a play off place at the start of his tenure was philosophical following the defeat. "At this point, to be over critical isn't going to help, the league is done and we move on. We now set our sights on the the play off place we have worked hard for all season. The things we have done well, we must now do them better if we are to be successful. Its one chance next Saturday and we must have no regrets and just go for it to deliver a performance worthy of all we know we are capable, in order to take us another step closer to promotion."
Yellows will now face Bourne Town away next Saturday in the play off semi final.
