It was not be a fairy tale ending as we closed the doors on Watnall Road.
Yellows hosted Basford United in the second round of the Nottinghamshire FA Senior Cup.
Yellows started well and came close to going ahead after just 6 minutes as Westcarr put a low ball in across the face of the goal, narrowly missed by Short in what was a fairly evenly fought first half. However Basford found themselves ahead with a Tyreace Palmer goal six minutes before the break.
In the second half Basford had the better chances and Yellows were stunned when Anthony Dwyer scored early in the second half to make it 2-0.
Yellows showed plenty of fighting spirit in the second half but in the end couldn't create a clear cut opportunity and it finished Basford 2 Yellows 0.
A good crowd of nearly 300 witnessed the final match at Watnall Road.
Yellows now have at least 6 away fixtures on the bounce before playing their next home match at The RM Stadium in December. We will have more information on the new Stadium very soon.
