Pre- match interview

As the new season kicks off tomorrow, Manager Andy Ingle is happy with the pre-season signings and the team's preparation so far, as we caught up with him this week. "Well it seems it's come and gone so quickly, roughly 6 weeks has flown by, could we have done with longer? I'd say another couple of weeks would have been ideal, but I guess most will be thinking the same. Overall it's gone well. We put some encouraging performances in and I can see both improvements  and also areas we can still improve upon".

Ingle is keen to keep one eye on the future and saw the need to bring in some fresh blood. "The group of players we have now is a good mix of experience, along with a small group of younger players we felt we needed, with the future in mind; whilst also being totally focused on the here and now. We have to evolve with long term player development. I have seen a good bond developing with competition for places. There are no egos in this group. The support and  encouragement for each other is good to see, the changing room is positive and with the first league game now upon us, we just want to get started, There seems to be an excitement building for the new season".

Supporters have already had a taste of some of the new players and we asked Ingle to expand on some of these new faces. "The new signings have settled in well with training and gaining valuable game time, along with the group that we retained. Jake Brien ( JB ) is a 24 year old centre half who comes to us having moved up to Nottingham from Essex. He contacted us for a trial and we were looking for extra cover at centre half, which is his primary position, so we invited him along. Jake played at a good standard at Lincoln University and with other local clubs in his area. He will add some depth to the defenders we already have in the group. Calum Clarke (Clarkey) is a 21 year old right back. I have worked with Cal at U19's, U21's and at senior level and he has great attitude and willingness to learn and has done well in preseason. Cal has played at Eastwood and Leeds University. He is working hard and settling in well and this season looks promising for Cal. Morgan Bell ( Morgs) is a 23 year old central midfield/forward and I worked with him at U21 level. He has good energy and is very direct but can also mix it with the physical demands as well, so that gives us options. I'm expecting big things from him. Kieran Knight (Knighty) is a 22 year old forward I have worked with at U19's and U21's and also at senior level.  Kieran has had good spells at Eastwood and played for Carlton Town at the early stage of last Season. Myself and Kieran had lengthy talks on him coming to Hucknall and I am very pleased he agreed to join the club. He is a proven goalscorer who just adds quality to our front line for this season".

Ingle has not ruled out more signings as he seeks to provide both cover and competition for what will be a long season.

Yellow's first home match of the season will be against St Andrews on the 6th of August, and with a new squad and a new ground well on the way to completion, with a move planned later in the year, supporters have a lot to look forward to. However the business starts tomorrow away to Holwell Sports FC, in a later 4.45pm kick off as this is part of the leagues ground hop initiative. "We are ready and we are prepared for tomorrow. The lads are upbeat and positive about the season ahead and the vibe in the squad right now is really good and you can really see that on the training ground. Everyone will be given an opportunity to perform and we will need the depth of squad with the style and the pace we are looking to perform at"
