Squad selection for this afternoon's trip to Bourne Town FC see us again without vice captain Sam Simms, along with Jamie Crawford, who both are at least a couple of weeks away from returning, after sustaining injuries in the St Andrews game.
Speaking about the selection challenges, Manager Andy Ingle gave an update on the injury situation. "Simmo originally picked his injury up v Redcar in pre season, which has just not had the time it needs to settle and Jamie Crawford has a hamstring problem and is awaiting on physio assessment. Defender Oli Brown has added to the list with a groin injury and may be out for another two to three weeks. With both Joe Butler and Joey Ashurst away, it leaves us light in midfield".
After Keiron Lane suffered a nasty injury in the midweek clash with Dunkirk, he was taken to hospital and was treated for a broken tibia. "The loss of Keiron is a massive blow as he has been a significant signing and an important part of our plans. Attempts this week to get a couple in on loans has not been successful due to timing more than anything. However we have signed Louis Tomlinson, who can play at left back or centre half, from Kimberley Town, who it must be said helped a great deal to get this deal done in time for him to be involved this weekend. He is a very good addition to the squad and proven at this level. Cayne Maxwell and Cal Clarke both return from injury and made an impact against Dunkirk scoring a goal each. So while it may not look too good and disrupts our momentum, we must continue to stick to our plan and weather the storm. We have to work hard to get a level of consistency in game time over longer periods. So onto Saturday, we must maintain our composure and work hard to get the result we need. There is a long way to go but we always remain confident in what we are doing. We can't let the injuries over take the process and we just have to deal with the situation and show character".
