Deeping Rangers v Yellows

After the disappointing weekend postponement due to a frozen pitch we hope for better weather this coming weekend as we travel to Deeping Rangers in the UCL Premier Division North.

Manager Tris Whitman gave us a general update on the preparation for the next match along with an update on injuries too.

"The Christmas break came to a frustrating end, with our scheduled away fixture against Blackstones falling victim to the weather.

Looking ahead, we have planned the upcoming week carefully to ensure we maintain momentum and fitness levels. Our focus is on preparation for the away fixture at Deeping. We are hopeful of confirming a friendly on Tuesday evening against Step 6 opposition, which would provide valuable match minutes, followed by an intense indoor training session on Thursday. At this stage, we are awaiting confirmation on whether Saturday’s fixture will go ahead, but contingency plans are in place should the game be postponed.

"From a squad perspective, we are moving into a healthier position with increased competition for places. Brad Lathell has begun to increase his training load, which is a positive step forward. We have also introduced Dan Tuck and Ferdinand Bartley to the squad to provide additional cover and competition in both attacking and defensive areas. CJ’s fitness and form continue to be monitored closely as he spends time at Sandiacre, rebuilding match fitness following a period out through injury.

Finally, we would like to place on record our thanks to Sam Sims, who has made the decision to move on. Sam has been a significant figure at the club for many years and played an important role within the senior leadership group. His support was invaluable during our integration into the club over a year ago and we wish him all the very best for the future".

The football club would also like to thank Sam Sims who has been a wonderful servant to the club over many seasons, he will be missed not only as a player but as a personality too and we wish him all the very best for the future. Keep an eye out for a special section in the next home programme on Sam.
