With three points secured in an exciting end to the Ashby match at the weekend, we are looking to repeat that on home turf as we welcome Wisbech to the RM Stadium this Saturday in the UCL Premier Division North.
The Manager Tris Whitman was pleased with how the squad approached the second half, at 2-0 down, to go on and win the game.
"Saturday's game was another where we really needed maximum points to stay in and around the teams above us. We went into the game with some injury and fitness concerns from the Wednesday game, meaning we had to make some changes and monitor load and match minutes.
"We went into the game knowing it would be difficult as Ashby had made a number of new signings and the pitch would be difficult for us to play the way we wanted.
"Despite going two goals down early I felt we were comfortable in the game and we had some joy in how we set up, but lapses of concentration and not being clinical enough in the final third, meant we went in two down at half time.
"We spoke about ways we would get joy in the second half as Ashby started to tire and that was the case. We got an early goal back from the spot and really started to dominate the ball.
" I felt likewise to Wednesday's game, the subs made a positive impact and we finished the game with more attack minded players which ultimately got us level and then finally on to win the game in the final moments. Overall it was a really pleasing result, even tho we knew the performance would require us to show a different side to how we usually play, so wasn’t pretty at times.
"We now have a week in training in preparation for our next match at home to Wisbech"
As normal we open on Saturday at 1.30pm with kick of at 3pm.
