The 21-year-old former Notts County Academy prospect joins the Yellows from Radford following stints with regional rivals Carlton Town FC and Eastwood CFC.
Saunders may be a familiar name to the Hucknall faithful. The versatile, left-footed defender featured against the Yellows during the 2025/26 United Counties League campaign. He came off the bench for Eastwood CFC in a hard-fought 1-0 victory for Hucknall at the RM Stadium in February 2026. Now, Saunders crosses the local divide to bolster the Yellows' defensive line. He brings a strong mix of technical ability and physical fitness to the squad—partially credited to his extensive background in amateur boxing before committing fully to football.
Capable of operating as both a traditional left-back and a left-sided central defender, Saunders gives the management team vital tactical flexibility. His comfort on the ball and academy-bred positional awareness make him a strong fit for Hucknall's style of play. The signing signals Hucknall Town’s ongoing commitment to developing the region's best young talent. Saunders will look to break straight into the matchday squad as the club pushes for a successful campaign.
