Yellows travelled to Sawley Park to take on Stapleford Town Reserves in this rearranged match after the first was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch. In truth the surface was still dreadful, but at least the sun was shining.
Hucknall took the lead when Ben Jones headed home from an Ally Staley corner and thought they'd doubled their lead soon after when the same drill saw Jones head home again only for the referee to blow for a foul. The game was basically a long ball exercise with both teams choosing to avoid playing through the thirds.
Half time: Stapleford Town Reserves 0-1 Hucknall Town Reserves
Stapleford leveled the score with a 'hand of god' goal when the referee failed to see a blatant handball fist the ball into the net.
Hucknall had chances to win the match but were profligate in front of goal and had to settle for a draw against a Stapleford team with 4 of their first team squad playing.
