Hucknall Town Reserves entertained Beeston Old Boys under the lights at the RM Stadium in the NSL1 looking to extend their unbeaten run to seven games.
Midweek games are always a challenge, but Yellows were able to bring in Brad Lathell, Ethan Hulley, Callum Orange and Ben Jones to field a very strong squad.
Yellows took the lead when Reece Gatland bundled the ball home, but some sloppy play from the home side meant that further chances were spurned and passes misplaced in a lackluster performance. Before half time Lindo fed Lathell to score Hucknall's second and then Lindo scored from the penalty spot after being felled when through on goal.
Half time: Hucknall Town Reserves 3-0 Beeston Old Boys
Hucknall made a number of changes and introduced Ethan Hulley, Danny Stokes and Kai Byron in the second half. Play was more controlled, and Yellows were much more patient in their build-up play and grabbed 3 fine goals as a result. First, Hulley smashed home from just inside the 18 yard box. Then, Callum Orange stepped inside his man to caress a shot to the bottom right corner and then on the stroke of full time Gatland grabbed his second with a fine header from Staley's cross.
