Hucknall made hard work of beating a resilient Teversal side but in the end picked up three more valuable points in their title quest.
The recent fine weather had made the pitch hard and bumpy and Hucknall struggled to get their passing game going.
As so many teams seem to do against Hucknall Teversal were happy to sit back and break quickly.
Hucknall had good possession but lacked quality in delivery but on 20 minutes Aaron Short scored his first goal for the club, heading home from close range. This was followed two minutes later with a second goal this time the scorer being Ethan Greenidge.
Any Ideas that Hucknall were going to coast to victory were thwarted on 35 mins when Teversal beat the offside trap allowing all the time in the world for Gary Akins to find the net even though Randall saved well initially.
Hucknall did restore their two goal cushion just before half time when a teversal defender turned the ball into his own net from a Joe Ashurst cross.
Teversal responded again just after half time after Hucknall gave the ball away to easily on the half way line. The ball was played to Rowley who finished well to make the score 3 2.
Hucknall pressed but couldn’t find the net again with the home keeper making 3 comfortable saves. This left Hucknall vulnerable to the quick breakaways but the score line remained the same.
