Hucknall ran out comfortable winners but never really got out of first gear against the league's bottom side. To many misplaced passes and poor finishing were the order of the day against a stubborn Welbeck team.
Like last week it was a bit of Sam Sim's magic that provided the breakthrough on 16 mins. Hucknall were awarded a free kick 30 yards out.Banister played a short pass to Sim's who blasted the ball over the keeper and into the net. Town continued to set the pace but the crosses and finishing lacked conviction. Sims turned provider on 23 mins crossing the ball to the waiting Ashurst who slotted home. Fans expecting another goal fest were to be disappointed. Indeed it was Welbeck who wasted a golden opportunity to score on 37 mins when the striker shot wide when well placed, Adam Nelson went close on 39 mins heading just wide but it remained 2 nil at half time.
The second half was pretty much a rerun of the first with Hucknall dominating but failing to test the visiting keeper. On a rare foray forward Welbeck forced Jablonski to make a good save.

Andy Graves made the changes with Jenkins coming on for Smith, Newton for Nelson and Danso for Banister.
The last change proved fruitful when Danso headed home on 83 minutes to end the scoring for the day.
The win takes Hucknall back to the top at least until Tuesday when Matlock Reserves play. Town have a difficult trip to Hilton next Saturday 2pm kick off .

My man of the match was Cayne Maxwell who never stopped all game and made some vital interceptions on Webeck's rare attacks.
